This image has a sense as if it's almost taken from a drone, but it was actually taken from the rim of Crater Lake at "Crater Lake National Park". The lake is actually the remnants of an old volcano, which now hosts a small lake and an island called Wizard Island (quite Tolkien if you ask me). I've always wanted to visit Crater Lake and on whims notice I made myself camp out for one night before meeting a friend in Portland. I must say it was one of the coldest nights of camping that I remember but the view was worth it. This image is a sliver of the volcanos shore line just as the snow began to melt. Although this photograph lives in the California location, Crater Lake is actually in Souther Oregon, once I get the Oregon gallery up we can let it live here :]
The image was taken on 6x7 medium format film and is printed on fine art paper.
