This image was take on an early morning hike in the foothills of Mount Diablo. The image was made on 6x7 black and white medium format film. It could have been the disfigured tree as to why I took the photo, or maybe the muddy swerving road, or both. This area is home to a diverse array of trees, including California Oak, but there is plenty of pine and manzanita scattered across the area. The natural beauty of Mount Diablo is undoubtedly a gem within the Bay Area.

Marko Knezevic
Marko is a landscape photographer based out of San Francisco, CA. Born in ex-Yugoslavia, he immigrated to Phoenix, AZ, at the age of 7. Photographs have always held a special place in his heart because they were a way for him to connect to the past. Nowadays, he wanders the trails and landscapes of California, obsessing over the textures and colors that our world provides for us. His hope with the work he creates is to bring a sense of peace and calm to the viewer, and, hopefully, a sense of inspiration to go out into the wild and explore.
